The Open Table Pro Widget has a lot of settings available to you in a small area. This article walks you through each setting so you are equipped to interact with the widget as confidently as possible.

Open Table Widget Full ViewThe Open Table Widget is designed to allow you to configure all the available options you need to output your reservation form according to your restaurants exact needs. Here is a quick overview of all of your settings:

Main Settings

Widget Title

This provides a title that will appear above your reservation form. Many users use titles like “Make your reservation here”.

Display Option:

Here you choose which type of Reservation form this is going to be. You have three options:

  • Single Restaurant Reservation — Designate ONE restaurant to point your form to.
  • Predefined Restaurants — Designate many different restaurants for your users to choose from. This is especially useful for restaurants that have several locations, or a site that wants to refer their users to recommended restaurants.
  • User Lookup Reservations — Allow your visitors to search for a restaurant in the city of your choice. This is very useful for hotel sites, or conference center sites that want their site visitors to be able to book reservations in a nearby area.

After you choose your “Display Option” there are several different conditional fields available depending on your choice.

  • Restaurant Name (Single option) — This field will populate your restaurant by name. Simply start typing your restaurant name and it will appear below. This auto-suggest feature is powered by the OpenTable API, so if you do not see your restaurant appear there is an issue with your restaurant profile and you should contact Open Table directly.
  • Add Restaurant (Predefined option) — This is just like the Restaurant Name field. It will populate the name of your restaurant automatically. The difference is that when you select a restaurant it will add it to the “Open Table Restaurants” field below and you can then do another search to add additional restaurants.
  • City (User lookup option) — Enter the city or cities you want your users to be able to search within for their restaurants. This field will also have auto-suggests that are populated according to which cities Open Table serves. Our widget supports resturants in the U.S., Canada, U.K, Germany, Japan, and Mexico only.
